Director Atlee of 'Raja Rani' and 'Bigil' fame is currently doing 'Jawan', the pan-India flick starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. Set to hit the screens on June 2 next year, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
The buzz is that 'Vikram' and 'Uppena' actor Vijay Sethupathi has been approached to play the antagonist in the film. If he gets to do the film, it will be a major Bollywood outing for him. He was signed up for Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chadhha' before the Covid-19 pandemic. But he couldn't do the role due to his busy schedule. Vijay is known for the recent Tamil-language hit 'KRK', co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nayanthara.
The grapevine has it that the 'Jawan' role was first offered to 'Bheemla Nayak' villain Rana Daggubati. For whatever reason, the 'Virata Parvam' actor couldn't come on board.
SRK recently described the story of 'Jawan' as universal traversing geographies and breaking barriers. Produced by Gauri Khan, the film is currently in the making.
