Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's bail plea has been rejected yet again by Mumbai session court on Wednesday. The youngster has been in NCB custody since he was arrested from a rave party on a crusie ship earlier this month. Several filmstars and directors have vocied their support for Aryan Khan in the matter and also raised question on the way this case is being handled.
Recently during a book launch event, veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar also commented on the matter and stated that this is just another case of Bollywood being exploited for its high profile nature. Without taking any names, Javed said, "This is the price the film industry has to pay for being high profile. When you're high profile, people have fun pulling you down, throwing muck at you. If you're a nobody, then who has the time to throw stones at you?"
Further in his statement, Javed pointed out media's hypocrisy. Talking about the recent instance of 3 ton heroin seizure at Mundra port, he said, "You find cocaine worth one billion dollar at a port, somewhere else there were 1200 people where ganja and a total sum of 1 lakh 30 thousand are found. Now this has become a big national news but I haven't seen any headline on the billion dollar cocaine..."
