The kidnap of the 4-year-old Jasith in Mandapeta created ripples in the Telugu States for four days.  The kidnappers finally let off their captive in the midnight of Wednesday.  The kid is now safely back at his home.

The police had taken the case seriously.  About 17 teams, comprising of 500 policemen, hunted for the kidnappers.  The culprits realized that it became difficult for them and so, they decided to let off the boy.

Surprisingly, Jasith is looking normal.  His mother is happy that her son was not terrified when he was held captive for more than three days.  When a TV channel asked her what makes her son so different from kids of his age, she joked that he always prefers to eat upma.  "That's why he is so brave perhaps," she said in a lighter vein.
