The coronavirus pandemic is showing no respite at the start of this week as the infected count surpasses 7 lakhs with the death toll at 34,000 as of this moment. On Friday Spain's Princess Maria Teressa succumbed to the deadly disease and it has been reported that veteran Japanese comedian Ken Shimura who tested positive on March 23rd passed away on Sunday night at a private hospital at Shinjiko, Tokyo.
Ken Shimura was part of the comedy group The Drifters and has acted in a few movies and several television shows. He entertained the Japanese audiences from 1972 to just before he died at the age of 70.
