Janhvi Kapoor Reveals Why She Calls Ram Charan ‘Sir’; Praises His Discipline and Humility

With Peddi gearing up for its grand worldwide release on June 4, excitement around the film continues to soar. Following the blockbuster response to songs like “Chikiri Chikiri” and “Rai Rai Raa Raa,” the makers recently unveiled “Hellallallo,” another energetic track featuring Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Shruti Haasan. As promotions gain momentum, Janhvi Kapoor has opened up about her experience of working with Ram Charan and revealed why she fondly addresses him as “Sir.”

Marking their first on-screen collaboration, Peddi brings together Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in what is already being described as one of the film’s biggest attractions. Speaking about her co-star, Janhvi had nothing but praise for Charan’s talent, dedication, and respectful nature.

Recalling her first day on the sets of Peddi in Mysore, Janhvi said she was extremely nervous while filming portions of the “Chikiri Chikiri” song montage because she had admired Ram Charan’s work for years.

“On my first day of shoot in Mysore, it was a song montage cut for Chikiri Chikiri. I was very nervous because I have seen a lot of his work. I think I call him sir because of the plethora of work that he’s done and how much he’s moved people, how much he means to people,” she shared.

Explaining further, Janhvi said that Ram Charan’s immense contribution to cinema, along with his commitment to his craft, naturally commands respect.

“His sheer talent, discipline, and dedication to entertaining people, and to giving to his craft and artistry, warrants a ‘sir’ for sure. He’s very calm, composed, and very respectful, not just to elders but to everyone,” she added.

Peddi, one of the most anticipated pan-India films of the year, has generated tremendous buzz with every promotional asset. The recently released trailer impressed audiences with Ram Charan’s stunning transformation into three athlete avatars—a cricketer, a runner, and a wrestler-showcasing the hard work and dedication he invested in the role.

The film’s music, composed by A.R. Rahman, has become a major talking point. While “Chikiri Chikiri” has crossed 200 million views on YouTube, “Rai Rai Raa Raa” has amassed over 74 million views, further strengthening anticipation for the film. The newly released “Hellallallo” has also received an enthusiastic response from fans.

The grand musical celebration of Peddi, held in Bhopal on May 23, emerged as one of the biggest movie concerts in recent times. The event brought together Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Ravi Kishan, Divyendu Sharma, director Buchi Babu Sana, and music legend A.R. Rahman on a single stage.

Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, the film is presented in association with Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and IVY Entertainment.

Backed by a stellar technical team that includes A.R. Rahman (music), R. Rathnavelu (cinematography), Avinash Kolla (production design), and Navin Nooli (editing), Peddi is set for worldwide premieres on June 3, followed by its theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
