'Janatha Garage': Is he the inspiration?

'Janatha Garage', we all know now, has an idealistic hero at its centre. A Nature-lover and an environmental crusader, Young Tiger NTR plays Anand in this much-awaited flick. Might Koratala Shiva taken inspiration from a real-life personality to etch his character?

There is a speculation that the director might have been inspired by the life and struggle of the legendary Garhwali environmentalist, Sundarlal Bahuguna. It needs to be seen if elements of the world-famous Chipko movement have been interspersed with the film's narration.

This is for the first time that a mainstream Tollywood movie, that too one featuring a big star, has the concept of fight for environmental protection at its centre. Inspired by the film's message as is evident from the trailer, sections of the audience are volunteering to plan saplings as can be witnessed via Twitter's #JanathaGarageChallenge.
