It is known that, the other day, the Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission served a notice on Pawan Kalyan for allegedly normalizing divorces during a speech earlier this month. On Sunday, the Jana Sena Party suggested that the track record of the Commission is questionable. The party tried to put the Commission in the dock by putting questions to its Chairman.
In a retort, the Jana Sena Party asked why some of the well-known rapes and other sexual crimes against women have gone unpunished in Andhra Pradesh. "What is the Commission doing about the delay in the delivery of justice to the female victims?" the party asked.
It also gave several examples of YCP leaders using language deemed derogatory and obnoxious towards women in general. "When they used unprintable language against the female family members of opponents, etc., where was the concern for women's dignity?" the party asked. Incidents related to the Sugali Preethi story were also invoked.
In a social media campaign, Jana Sainiks used the hashtag 'APWomenCommissionExposed', which trended on Twitter.
