Recently, a young man named Rajupalepu Pavana Phani from Hyderabad tweeted that he would become a human bomb and assassinate Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. A self-proclaimed fan of Pawan Kalyan, Phani is a supporter of the Jana Sena Party. The AP State Crime Investigation Department yesterday arrested the man for making a death threat.
After the news created a furor, JSP on Saturday issued a statement saying that the party doesn't encourage incitement to violence, abuse, or harassment. The official statement of Jana Sena said that self-styled fans of the party and its leader Pawan Kalyan should behave in a dignified and responsible manner. "Our party has nothing to do with the man (Phani). We shall always condemn social media posts/statements that threaten peace and harmony," the party said.
Jana Sena further added that social media has to be used responsibly to spread factual, analytical, thought-provoking, and awareness-creating posts.
