‘Jana Nayagan’ Awaiting Censor Clearance; Producer Confirms New Release Date Announcement Soon

Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited final film Jana Nayagan continues to remain in the spotlight as fans eagerly wait for an official update on its release. The film has reportedly been stuck in the certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), leading to repeated delays in its theatrical release.

Originally scheduled to hit theatres during the Pongal festival on January 9, the film was later postponed after being sent to the revising committee shortly before release. Since then, several major developments have surrounded the project, including Vijay’s rise as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and reports of an HD print of the film being leaked online. Despite nearly five months passing, the film is still awaiting censor clearance.

Recently, producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions addressed the media after visiting a temple on Friday evening. Though initially hesitant to speak about the film, he eventually confirmed that the certification process is still underway and expressed confidence that approval would arrive soon.

“This is not the place to talk about Jana Nayagan. I came for temple darshan. But as I said, we’re waiting for the certificate to come. I am sure they’re going to give it anytime soon. We’ll release it at the earliest,” he stated.

The producer also revealed that the makers are preparing to announce a fresh release date once the censor certificate is received. According to him, the announcement will be made well in advance, followed by a grand worldwide release.

Venkat further shared his happiness over Vijay becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Referring to the film’s title, he said the actor has now truly become the “Jana Nayagan” (People’s Leader) of Tamil Nadu.

Fans are especially emotional about the film as it is expected to be Vijay’s final appearance on the big screen before fully dedicating himself to politics. With the actor already beginning his political journey, anticipation around the movie has grown even stronger among his supporters, who are eager to witness their favourite star one last time in theatres.
