'Jana Gana Mana' has remained just an idea for many years. Puri Jagannadh has opened up on the unmanifested dream all of a sudden.
The 'iSmart Shankar' director, appearing on TV on a Father's Day special, said that 'JGM' is his dream project and that he is going to do it soon. It will be a multi-lingual, pan-India project.
The director is currently doing Vijay Deverakonda's 'Fighter' as a pan-India project. 'JGM' is likely to be his second consecutive Hindi-Telugu-Tamil-Malayalam project. It's not clear if the director has already secured a word from some Bollywood producer. Since he has come up with a categorical statement, it can be assumed that talks are in an advanced stage.
In 2016, Mahesh Babu was to do 'Jana Gana Mana'. The idea was shelved soon. In 2019, Puri said that he will not make the film with Mahesh as the hero.
