It is a well-known fact that the first footage of James Cameron's 'Avatar 2' debuted at CinemaCon 2022 event in April. It was exclusively screened along with 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' in the theatres. Now, the teaser trailer of 'Avatar: The Way of Water' has been officially released on Youtube.
The 97-second-long video is nothing short of a visual extravaganza. The trailer shows a human (in human form) living with Sully's family and among the Na'vi people in Pandora. We can see that the Na'vi civilization is gradually growing and marching towards greater things. Meanwhile, Jake and Neytiri's family and how much their life is related to the water are shown.
The synopsis reads, "Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure." 'Avatar 2' is coming to the silver screens on December 16, 2022, while 'Avatar 1' is re-releasing worldwide on September 23.
Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet. On the other hand, the makers have planned three sequels: 'Avatar 3', 'Avatar 4' and 'Avatar 5' scheduled for 2024, 2026 and 2028.
