The re-release of 'Jalsa' on September 1 in theatres has become a talking point of sorts. The US special shows minted a gross figure of $28,067 from advance sales, with 2298 tickets getting sold from 25 locations and 50 shows. This is a record-breaking figure. Spot bookings will also be added eventually.
For perspective, the figure is double that of what the re-release of 'Pokiri' recently achieved. The Mahesh Babu-starrer couldn't go beyond a point due to various reasons.
More than 500 special shows have been confirmed, with a lion's share of them in the Telugu States. Each of the shows is a sold-out one. The shows have been organized to mark Pawan Kalyan's birthday. This number is nearly double the number that 'Pokiri' had got.
The Trivikram Srinivas directorial, co-starring Ileana, Prakash Raj, Mukesh Rishi and others, is generating the biggest-ever amount for a re-release happening more than 10 years after its original release.
