Actor Jai, who had last played lead role in Jarugandi and is currently expecting the release of Venkat Prabhu's Party and his Malayalam debut Madhuraraja, has signed his next flick which will have him playing an interesting character - a superhero.

Titled Breaking News, this movie is directed by debutant Andrew Pandian, and will be about how a common man becomes a superhero and makes the nation a paradise, with his efforts. Breaking news is a fantasy entertainer which will have extensive VFX shots for more than 90 minutes.

Breaking News will be a proper superhero movie on the lines of Superman and Spider-Man, and Andrew had earlier worked in biggies like Anniyan as VFX supervisor. Produced by Thirukadal Udhayam from Norway, the movie which has cinematography by Johny Lal and editing by Antony is all set to be launched on February 21.
