Jailbird Dinakaran, nephew of his famed jailbird aunt Sasikala, is said to be planning to float a new political outfit now that the writing is on the wall that the Election Commission of India would hand-over the famed ‘Two-Leaves’ symbol, the party’s name and flag to the unified AIADMK led by the duo of EPS and OPS.
As a first step, Dinakaran is said to have asked his aides to find a suitable location for the party’s headquarters. It may be recalled that after plotting the mysterious demise of former chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa, her former aide and jailbird Sasikala’s family plotted to take control of the party (AIADMK) first and then the Govt. led by it.
However, jailbird Sasikala’s dreams were shattered (at New Delhi’s behest) and she was promptly sent to the Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bangalore to serve 4-year long rigorous imprisonment in the misappropriation of assets case. Her nephew Dinakaran, who was appointed by jailbird Sasikala prior to leaving for prison as the party’s deputy general secretary, appointed ‘self’ to contest the R.K. Nagar by-polls.
R.K. Nagar by-polls were later cancelled and Dinakaran too landed up in Tihar Prison in New Delhi. Thus, dreams of Sasikala’s family in ‘usurping power’ and the party were blown to pieces. Now that the EPS and OPS factions have merged to form a unified AIADMK, it is clear that the Election Commission may recognize this entity as the original AIADMK and allot the symbol, name and flag to the duo.
Dinakaran is planning now to float his own political outfit mainly to ‘preserve’ the hard-earned property in the absence of aunt Sasikala, who would be returning to her Bangalore prison after a 5-day parole.
