The shooting of Venkat Prabhu`s sequel to his 2007 sleeper hit Chennai 600028` is all but over with a few crucial patch work pending. The maverick director is awaiting for one of the lead heroes Jai`s availability.

Jai who is busy with films like Balloon` and 'Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal' is unable to allot dates, but is trying his best to finish his portions for these films and get back to the VP sets. Chennai 28 2`an Yuvan Shankar Raja musical has Siva, Jai,Vijayalakshmi, Premgi Amaran,Ajay Raaj, Nithin Sathya, Arvind Aakash and other members returning from the original cast. The film is produced by SPB Charan`s Capital Film Works and Venkat Prabhu`s Black Ticket Company.
