Actor Jai was last seen on screen in the action entertainer Jarugandi directed by debutant Pichumani, and is currently having a number of interesting projects like Suresh directorial Neeya 2, Venkat Prabhu directorial fun entertainer Party, and many other movies.

Now it has been revealed that the actor has been signed to play the lead role in an upcoming entertainer which will be directed by veteran director SA Chandrasekaran. This movie will also be produced by SAC who had last directed the movie Touring Talkies in 2015.

SAC was last seen as an actor in Traffic Ramasamy, and was also seen in an important cameo in Kodi, and interestingly, SAC's son Thalapathy Vijay and Jai had shared screen space in Bhagavathi where the latter played Vijay's brother. This untitled movie is expected to have Jai's Kalakalappu 2 pair Nikki Galrani as his pair. An official announcement is expected soon.
