Speaking at the success meet of 'Jai Lava Kusa', Dil Raju said something remarkable. The figures he put out (not that these were unknown, but they came from the horse's mouth) proved that 'JLK' is a bigger hit than 'Janatha Garage', which has hitherto been NTR's biggest hit. All the doubts have now been vanquished.
"The film has grossed Rs. 18.60 Cr in 4 days. In the same period, 'JG' had made Rs. 15.60 Cr," Raju, who has distributed the film in Nizam territory, said. In terms of the number of theatres in which 'JLK' got released on last Thursday, it was bigger than the Koratala Shiva movie. And even discounting for this fact, the figure is definitely encouraging.
"In this age when the success rate is very low, I thank Tarak garu for giving us back to back blockbusters," Bharat, the East Godavari distributor, has been quoted as saying. Suffice it to say that 'JLK' is an all-round hit.
In his speech at the said event, NTR described his writers and director as the shoulders of film, while the cinematographer (Chota K Naidu) was likened to the backbone. Surprisingly, Posani Krishna Murali had a special praise reserved. "The sentimental scene involving Posani garu (in the pre-climax phase) is one of the key reasons why 'JLK' has become such a big hit," the Young Tiger said.
