The Karnataka state film award winner in the best supporting category for 2005-2006 for the film 'Mata' – Jaggesh has decided not to accept the state award. I am a hero. I am not a supporting actor. This is nothing but degrading. I have completed 100 films in my career of 24 years. I have swallowed many insults in my life. This is something more than all. Jaggesh felt depressed addressing the media at the Arjun Art studio on Wednesday afternoon.

On this occasion I take this as a challenge and try to work hard in securing the state and national award in the forthcoming films said Jaggesh. Primarily I consider the sound of clap from the audience and media reaction as the award in my life said Jaggesh announcing the rejection of the award.

In 100 films so far in his career this is for the first time Jaggesh has won an award from the state government. But this has turned out to be very pathetic for him as they considered him as a supporting actor. Do not attach any political color for my rejection of the award said Jaggesh who is an active member of Congress-I party.

A few years ago superstar Vishnuvardhana rejected the award given to him because the best actor was divided between him and Ramesh Aravind.
