Yesteryear hero Jagapathi Babu has reinvented himself as an actor with Balakrishna's Legend. The film revived his fortunes in the industry and fetched him various roles including a baddie, a dotting dad and so on. The recent success of Nannaku Prematho in Malayalam has turned the heads of many Malayalam filmmakers and apparently Jagapathi Babu has become the first choice of their films.

News is that Jagapathi Babu is soon going to debut in Malayalam with Mohanlal starrer Puli Murugan. The actor is playing the antagonist in this action entertainer directed by Vysakh. The film is slated for release in April. Hitherto, we have seen a legion of Malayalam stars testing their luck in Telugu and it`s refreshing to see Jagapathi making inroads to Malayalam industry during the same time.
