Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday announced that the Andhra Pradesh government will give Rs 15,000 to the kin of those who die of coronavirus towards the performance of the last rites of the deceased. The move is meant to make the last rites smoother for the family members of the Covid-19 casualties.
In addition, the CM said that those hospitals refusing to admit Covid-19 patients will face action. The Health Department is likely to strip such hospitals of their recognition.
Besides, each Covid-19 hospital must ensure GMP-standard medicines and quality healthcare.
Jagan's administration is also taking steps to get quarantine centres to get beefed up with proper sanitation and nutritious food. Officials have been directed to supervise the arrangements.
Reports say that special buses are going to be deployed to perform contact tracing and testing in containment zones, where the incidence of the virus has been high.
