It's known that, on Sunday, the Andhra Pradesh Police promptly detained Ram Gopal Varma and his 'Lakshmi's NTR' producer Rakesh Reddy at the Gannavaram Airport ahead of their scheduled press meet on the controversial film. The authorities sent them back to Hyderabad in no time. The behaviour of the police, palpably at the behest of the political bosses, has drawn much criticism.
Opposition leader and CM-in-waiting Jaganmohan Reddy himself has on Monday come to the support of RGV. "Our democracy in such a state where one can't hold a press meet in Vijayawada. Police are being used like personal staff. Is this democracy? Chandrababu garu, what is the mistake that Ram Gopal Varma garu has committed?" Jagan tweeted out.
Acknowledging the tweet, RGV said, "Jagan Garu, I am surprised that even at this age CBN does not realise that no one can hide the truth."
