Representatives of the Telugu film industry on Tuesday met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Megastar Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Dil Raju, D Suresh Babu, SS Rajamouli, Vijay Chander, and others like Prasad V Potluri, Damodara Prasad, C Kalyan were present on the occasion.
The government is willing to allow shoots to take place after June 15. Telangana with far greater incidence of Covid-19 than AP has already allowed shoots from the same date.
The CM has promised to allot lands for the setting up of studios in Vizag. In order to help build an ecosystem in the port city, those from the film industry wishing to settle down in Vizag will be allotted plots.
Fixed power charges will be waived off for cinema halls. Flexible ticket rate system will be deliberated upon. These measures are expected to help the ailing film industry.
The CM is also learned to have promised to hold a Nandi awards event sooner than later.
