The COVID 19 situation has disrupted all the activities of the movie business and the entire modules are being reworked. The lockdown in most countries has brought about the uncertainty of when theaters could open safely and then too whether the audiences would dare to visit the halls with the virus expected to be in the reckoning for several months.
Many producers are now opting for OTT release and recently in Tamil 'Ponmagal Vandhal' starring Jyothika and produced by Suriya and Keerthy Suresh's 'Penguin' produced by Karthik Subbaraj were streamed directly on Amazon Prime Video to lukewarm response.
Meanwhile, Dhanush's upcoming biggie 'Jagame Thanthiram' directed by Karthik Subbaraj has been offered a whopping sum for direct release on Netflix. Producers Y Not Studios have been reluctant to sign the deal keeping in mind whether Dhanush would approve as he would want his fans to enjoy the film in theaters first.
Now the big buzz is that Dhanush has thought it over from a producer's point of view and since the interests for the investments is mounting day by day has decided to allow the release of 'Jagame Thanthiram' on OTT. It is said that he has conveyed his feelings to the producer's side and the move has already begun. The good news is that the D fans could catch their idol's film much sooner on Netflix rather than wait indefinitely for a theatrical celebration.
'Jagame Thanthiram' has music by Santhosh Narayanan and has the ensemble cast of Dhanush, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalaiarasan, Sanchana Natarajan, Joju George and James Cosmo.
