Jacto Geo coordinator arrested!

The Jacto Geo strike that has been conducted across Tamil Nadu, has intensified, as there were more than 1000 arrests in various parts of the state, and today has reached its peaks, with the arrest of Jacto Geo coordinator himself. The Jacto Geo associations have been on an indefinite strike from January 22, focusing on a 9 point charter of demands.
The prime focus of the strike organized by Jacto Geo happens to be the scrapping of the new pension scheme and replace it by the old scheme that was cancelled in 2004, besides the immediate settlement of the 21 months salary arrears as per the seventh pay commission specifications, and the salary regulations on par with central government employees.
On the 7th day of protest, along with teachers and other state government employees, even the staff from chief secretariat had joined the protest today. With numerous arrests in Karur, Tanjavur and many other places, the situation has turned chaotic. As the case against Jacto Geo strike is up for hearing today at the Madurai bench of Chennai high court, Jacto Geo coordinator Doss had reached the court and he was immediately arrested by the police and this unexpected arrest has further intensified the protests.
