In a shocking news, Martial arts superstar Jackie Chan's two luxury appartments in Beijing have been seized and will be put up for auction because of an ownership dispute.
It has been reported that a legal dispute between two real estate firms has lead to the properties being seized and put up for sale, even amidst constant appeals made by Jackie Chan. Jackie and his family have been living in the adjacent apartments in a residential compound since 2007.
The 66-year-old star is best known for hit movies 'Rush Hour' and 'Police Story'. The reason, to auction the homes, appears to be an ownership issue.
It has been said that the apartments have a combined area of 13,100 sq ft with six bedrooms and three living areas and its market value is estimated at $14.6 million, and are to be offered at auction on September 30 with a starting price of $10.5 million. Jackie Chan had paid $4.9 million for the apartment after doing some promotional work for the developer Yujia Real Estate. The apartments are now claimed as Yujia-owned assets after payment dispute between Yujia and another developer Tenhong Real Estate.
