'Jaanu', a love story that spans several years, stars Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni in lead roles. Our bet is that Kollywood director Premkumar has extracted a better performance from Sharwa than from the 'Majili' and 'Oh Baby' actress. From what it appears from the Trailer, the 'Mahanubhavudu' actor seems to have delivered a top-notch performance.

A remake of the Tamil romantic drama '96', wherein Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan played the lead pair, this one is conversational and immersive (in terms of music), it would seem from the trailer.

The dialogues may well be a big asset. "Okkosari jeevitham lo emi jarakkapoyina, edo jaragabotundi ani manasuki maatram munde thelisipotundi," touchingly says Samantha's character, powered by Chinmayi's dubbing.

From childhood love to anxieties after a reunion, the film is a coming-of-age narration. With music by Govind Vasantha and cinematography by Mahendran Jayaraju N, the drama promises some soulful songs, penned by Sirivennela Seetharamasastry and Shreemani. Editing is by the talented Praveen KL.
