Ivide Swargamaanu

It is of little doubt in Mollywood that Mohanlal and Thilakan had been the best father-son duo to have ever come up on screen. They were exemplary pair who made superhits like Kireedam, Sphadikam and Chenkol. These legendary actors are once again back as father and son in director Roshan Andrews' new Malayalam movie `Ividam Swargamaanu'. Apart from this big highlight, the movie will be first one scripted by James Albert, the script writer of films like Classmates and Cycle, for Mohanlal. A realistic story about common men, the movie will grace the theatres by the end of this week.

Mohanlal plays a farmer in this movie while Thilakan plays Jeremias, his father. Mathews, going by the words and dreams of his father, set up a huge farmhouse with cattle, vegetables and the like, on the banks of the river Periyar. Into their calm life arrives a rich man Aluva Chandy, who is ready to buy the land and surrounding areas by hook or crook, to develop it into a resort. Mathews try to resist this by all his might which lands them into unwanted troubles.

According to the scriptwriter, the movie deals with the social scenario of the state where each of the keralites are hell bound to settle every scores on ownership of land in legal battles with little acknowledgement on the  emotional bonding of people with their lands.

`Ividam Swargamanu', has three heroines in Priyanka Nair, Lakshmi Gopalswamy and Lakshmi Rai. This is the first big role in a commercial movie for Priyanka Nair, who won the Kerala state film award for best female actor last year. She plays Betsy, a TV reporter, who supports Mathews for his love for land. While Lakshmi Gopalswamy is Maria, a manager of a financial firm, Lakshmi Rai joins the second time with lal after `Rock N Roll' playing Sumathi, a lawyer. The movie also features Sreenivasan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Shankar, Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Sukumari in other important roles.

While Mohan Sithara is in charge of the music section, Diwaker wields the camera. Produced by Aashirwad films, the movie will be brought to theatres by Max lab release.
