I've learnt so much from that failure : Kalyan Ram [Interview]

  • IndiaGlitz, [Tuesday,February 03 2015]

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, who scored a hit after a long wait of ten years, is very happy now and is enjoying the success. He talks about the film, his wish to produce films with NTR and Balakrishna, his upcoming productions etc in an interview.

Excerpts from the interview.

How are you enjoying the success of your film after 10 years ?

I am very happy with the success of 'Pataas'. More than that my responsibility has increased. We made the film loving the subject and enjoying it. I thank the audiences and everyone who made the film a big success.

Did you guess that the film will be a success when Anil Ravipudi narrated the story ?

I don't know how Anil directs the film. But I enjoyed his narration for the whole two and half hours. So I believed in him and made the film. Anil Ravipudi directed the film superbly. Now I am enjoying the success.

Did you ever feel sad about your failures in these 10 years ?

Success and failure are common. Whenever I faced a failure, I used to introspect myself more than worrying about it. My friends and family members used to give me moral support, whenever I was sad. Because of them, I never thought of leaving the industry. I always wanted to prove myself.

What did you learn from 'Pataas' success ?

I learnt so much from the failure of 'OM'. I felt that movie was a burden for the audiences as there is no entertainment. Audiences now a days want to be entertained from movies. So I gave importance to entertainment in 'Pataas'. I will do only such movies from now on.

Do you want to produce films of your uncle Balakrishna and brother NTR ?

Yes. I have plans of producing films with both of them. I will announce those projects if they are finalized.

What about your upcoming film, 'Sher' ?

We are planning to release 'Sher' in Summer. Five songs and some talkie part are balance in shooting. It will also definitely entertain the audiences.

Kalyan Ram once again thanked the audiences who received the film well and made it a success.
