It's time for Christmas films

After doing not so bad business for this Ramzan, which created a super hit in 'Chocolate' and safe business to 'Nasraani’, the film industry is now geared up for the next big season of the year - Christmas. This last season of an year is also one of the prospective time for big releases in Mollywood, due to school vacations and holidays that last for two weeks. Last year it was Mohanlal's 'Baba Kalyani' which did reasonably good business compared to other films in the race like Mammootty’s ‘Palunku'.
This year too, Mohanlal will have a release in 'Flash' - the film which will welcome back the director Sibi Malayil to Mollywood. The flick will have note book fame Parvathy in the female lead .This film is wrapped up as a psychological thriller, in the scripts of Bhasurachandran. The film will also mark the debut of Gopisundar, the popular rerecording artist, as the music director.
Mammootty will have 'Kathaparyumpol' a film directed by debutante Mohanan. In this satire scripted by Sreenivasan, Mammootty will appear as a filmy superstar Ashokraj, in a shorter role than usual which appear mostly in the later half of the flick. The film will be ably supported in the lead by Sreenivasn and Mukesh, who are also the producers of the film, in the banner of Lumiere films.
Prithviraj who is currently enjoying the success of a big hit like chocolate will have another entertainer in Raj Babu’s ‘Kangaru' all slated to hit the theatres on December 21. The film will also have Jayasuriya, Kavya Madhavan and Kaveri in important roles. The flick is distributed by the most successful distributors of the years - Lal creations.
The dark horse among the releases will be Dileep's ‘Romeo' produced and scripted by hit makers Rafi Mecartin and directed by Rajasenan. The film has a number of heroines like Samvrutha Sunil and Vimala. This slapstick comedy film is distributed by Marikkar films which has number of hits in 2007 like ‘Big B’, ‘Hello’ and ‘Nasraani’.
Apart from these films Dileep's 'Calcutta News', Bala's 'SMS' and Saiju's ‘Jubilee' may also make into theatres for this Christmas.
