Yesteryear actress Vani Viswanath, who was recently in the news when it was reported that she would be contesting from Chittoor's Nagari in 2019 on a TDP ticket, has said that Ram Gopal Varma would do well to give up the idea of making 'Lakshmi's NTR'.

“NTR garu is history himself, having heralded a new epoch in the film world and politics as well," she tells a national daily, adding that, as such, NTR shouldn't be targeted personally, thereby bringing him to disrepute and offending the sentiments of millions of his fans.

Vani feels that RGV's controversial film won't affect the image of the Telugu Desam Party in any way. She likens the party to 'Agni'.

Saying that Vani has threatened to do 'dharna' in case the film distorts NTR's life, Ramu tells her this much: "I have no house for you to do dharna in front of my house! I am seen roaming on the roads. If you too start roaming on roads searching for me, your tender feet will be damaged."
