Her name sounds tacky. Some of her films (in Tamil and Malayalam) too have been just that. Her forays into Telugu too have not exactly Godavari on fire. Yet, Charmy, the heroine of Krishnavamsi's forthcoming venture Sri Anajneyam, is upbeat and gung-ho. Even if the film flops, she will be like that. For, optimism is a natural trait in her.

"Positive thinking is my strength," she says with a typical giggle.

Charmy made her debut in Telugu through Nee Thodu Kavali. Then she vanished to where she came from. Her second coming was through Mansichchanu opposite Srikanth. She also did a couple of Tamil and Malayalam movies in the interregnum. Her last Telugu movie was Guri opposite the big burly Sri Hari. As it happens, none of these flicks have been major hits. So it redounds to Charmy's credit that she has hung on (wo)manfully without losing her essential poise. But she is also only two aware that is her last chance. To be sure, after Sri Anjaneyam she has a couple of films lined up (one with Sumanth and the other with Ravi Teja). But it is Krishna Vamsi's film that Charmy is banking on heavily.

"It is almost an author-backed role for me," Charmy says bright-eyed and bushy tailed. "It is well etched with lot of scope for acting".

Charmy plays the village belle Paddu in Sri Anajaneyam opposite Nitin. Charmy has been so engrossed in the film and the Character that she has lost her weight. "The role was worth it," she deadpans.” There is an interesting twist in tale,' she adds. But, naturally, she wouldn't tell. Charmy however cannot stop telling about his co-star Nitin or the director Krishna Vamsi. "I get along very well with both of them. It has been a pleasure to work with them".

Now the question is whether it will be pleasure for the audience to see Charmy in action in Sri Anjaneyam. The fans are waiting.

As it happens, so is she.
