After a long delay, Sidharth Malhotra's next film 'Mission Majnu' is all set to release on 19th of January. Set in the 1970s the film will feature Sidharth in the role of an Indian spy who infiltrates Pakistan to gather intelligence about their nuclear program. The trailer was released recently and promises a patriotic edge of the seat thriller.
During the trailer launch event, Sidharth expressed delight that he got to act like Amitabh Bachchan in this film. He said, "The train scene is something we’re pretty excited about as a team. It’s the first time I’ve done an action scene on a train. So, I loved it. It adds to the thrill of the film. We’re hopefully true to the genre and I hope people love it. I could ape my idol, Mr Bachchan (from Sholay)."
Sidharth also shared that this film has nothing in common with Hollywood spy movies like James Bond and Mission Impossible series. He said, "It’s a spy thriller first, but our producers, director, and writers tried to keep it a little authentic in the real world, where spies don’t come out all guns blazing. This isn’t James Bond, but there are certain situations in the film where he has to resort to certain action sequences. It’s not a James Bond-like character that would live on. He is somebody that would get hurt or be stuck or wouldn’t always have the technology (at his disposal) or an escape plane."
