As has been rumoured, the Telugu remake of 'Lucifer' (Malayalam) will be helmed by director Mohan Raja. The Telugu audience remember him as the maker of the comedy caper 'Hanuman Junction' (2001), which starred Arjun Sarja and Jagapathi Babu.
Announcing the director's name on Wednesday, the makers said that it will be shot in January, after Sankranthi. Chiranjeevi reprises Mohanlal in the remake.
Ram Charan has teamed up with NV Prasad of NVR Cinema to produce this movie on Konidela Productions. "With the blessings of my parents and well-wishers, life has always gifted me better and bigger things. And this time I am more elated n honored to direct a mega project with the Megastar Chiranjeevi himself. Need all your wishes n prayers," Mohan Raja tweeted out, unable to conceal his excitement.
It may be recalled that the film was supposed to be directed by VV Vinayak. It's said that Chiru didn't like some script changes. Vinayak has since moved on to remake 'Chatrapathi' in Hindi with Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas.
