The shutdown of South Indian film industry is now official. Earlier in the day, deliberations between concerned bodies (the Joint Action Committee, comprising of all bodies from South Indian Film Industry and key digital service providers) fell apart.

With Qube and UFO not ready to budge on Virtual Print Fee and revenue-sharing proposals of producers, it has been decided to stall the screening of films from March 2. Producers and distributors should refuse to hand over content to Qube and UFO.

With this, the fate of 'Yuddha Bhoomi', 'Inthalo Ennenni Vinthalo', and 'Dandupalyam-3', which are scheduled to release in March first week, is uncertain. It will be a busy second half in March.
