Pawan Kalyan has on Saturday said that the propaganda by the ruling and opposition parties that Jana Sena will ally with them is a sign of first victory for the party. "It's they who need us, we don't need them. Fortuitously, the commoner's glass tumbler has been assigned the election symbol and I see it as a positive sign," the party chief commented during a review meeting for Chittoor and Prakasam districts.
He said that without taking risks, change won't come about. "The coming elections are neither the first nor the last for Jana Sena. They are just the beginning. The future belongs to us," Pawan said in an address to his cadre.
The actor-turned-politician commented that the ideals of Praja Rajyam Party got watered down when selfish members joined the party and deserted it after it failed to wrest power from the Congress. "They came expecting that Chiranjeevi garu will become the CM. They wanted to enjoy the pelf of powerful positions. Such unethical leaders ruined the party," Pawan said.
Who is going to fund Jana Sena's election expenditure? "Some people have told me that any party would need Rs 2,000 Cr to fight elections. I want to tell everyone that Kanshi Ram garu (of the BSP) proved decades ago that you don't need money power to win elections," Pawan commented.
"Critics are pointing that Jana Sena has got no booth committees. Do TDP and YSRCP have them? As far as I know, Communist parties and BJP have them but they have never won in the State," Pawan added, promising that Parliament constituency-level committees will be constituted soon.
