Priyamani was present in the inaugural function of the 37th International Film Festival held in Goa yesterday (November 23). She had the honour of being invited to light the lamp (Kuththu Vilakku) to mark the inauguration of the Festival. She shared the dais along with Bollywood's box office badshah Shahrukh Khan.

Priyamani, thrilled to be at Goa sharing the dais with Shshrukh Khan, says, “It is a great honour bestowed on me so early in my career.”

“It has been an excellent year for me. Both Paruthi Veeran and Malaikottai have become big hits. My Telugu venture Yama Donga with NTR Junior is doing good business. I have won awards in various international film festivals for my performance in Paruthi Veeran and now I am at the inauguration of IFFI”, she says.

On the honour of sharing the dais with King Khan, she says, “I grew up watching Shahrukh Khan. I had seen his movies several times. To see him in close quarters has enthused me a lot”.

Many had predicted after watching Paruthi Veeran that this lass would go places. Priyamani is just proving the predictions right.
