'Mounaguru' is one of the few sleeper hits that graced Tamil cinema in recent times. The film that released on December 16 opened to rave reviews from critics and audience and is still running in a few suburbs apart from leading multiplexes in the city.

'Mounaguru' sees Arulnithi and Iniya in the lead roles with John Vijay and Uma Riyaz in pivotal roles. The film shows how a college-goer, Arulnithi, gets dragged into a crime issue and how he gets out of it.

The film is directed by debutant Santhakumar, a former associate of Dharani. Music is by Thaman. Buzz is that Arulnithi who has bagged a few promising projects post this film will be joining hands with Santhakumar again for a project later this year or early 2013.
