At the audio release function of 'Kaala' on Wednesday evening, Rajinikanth spoke as his heart wanted!  

He did something that superstars are too egoistic to do.  He got brutally honest about why he should do characters that suit his age and romance heroines of appropriate age!  "I should not have acted as a 30-year-old in 'Lingaa'.  Since I was 65, I should have played a 40 or 45 something.  Sonakshi Sinha is someone who grew up with my daughters.  In retrospect, I feel it was wrong to romance with her," the Superstar said.  Rajini added that he did 'Lingaa' (which was a flop) only because it was about dams and addressing water scarcity.  

The 'Kabali' star also revealed that he always knew 'Kochadaiyaan' would flop even when the animation film was in the making.  "We had lost hope even while it was under production," he stated.  

About 'Kaala', the actor noted, "It was shot in 85 days.  This is despite all the issues we faced.  Pa.Ranjith is a KS Ravikumar as far as his speediness is concerned."  

He tried to project 'Kaala' as a much better film than 'Kabali'.  "This film will be very different. Nana Patekar has played Hari Dada. He is as challenging as my villains in 'Baasha' and 'Padayappa' ('Narasimha' in Telugu)," Rajini observed.

When will he announce his party and formally take charge?  There is time for it!
