Announcing the release date of 'Tholi Prema' as Feb 10, its distributor Dil Raju on Wednesday said that there was no intention to release 'TholiPrema' and 'Inttelligent' in the same weekend.
"There is confusion among Mega fans regarding the films of Sai Dharam Tej and Varun Tej hitting on the same date. We didn't know that the makers of 'Inttelligent' had decided upon Feb 9. There was no communication to us from its producer. Meanwhile, I suggested to producer BVSN Prasad that 'TholiPrema' should be released ahead of Valentine's Day. As a producer and a distributor, I avoid unnecessary competition. Everybody makes films after toiling hard. So, revenue maximization should be the target. However, some unexpected situations do happen," he said.
Dil Raju added, "Nowadays there are lot many heroes and they are doing many movies. In the '80s, there would be 3-4 releases every week. In the last 20 years, the trend had got reversed with heroes doing far fewer movies."
"Neither C Kalyan, BVSN Prasad, Sai Dharam Tej, Varun Tej, nor I want to have this clash at the box office. Mega fans shouldn't be spoilt for choice. That's why, we have decided to release 'TholiPrema' a day later," he said. However, in Overseas, 'TholiPrema' could arrive on the 9th itself. "We had released 'Shatamanam Bhavati' and 'Happy Days' a day earlier in Overseas," Raju said.
Dil Raju expressed confidence in the movie. "I am happy to be associated as a distributor with this movie. Last year was bad for me as a distributor. This year, after 'Bhaagamathie', 'TholiPrema' is going to be my hit," he said.
The producer was flanked by BVSN Prasad, who too expressed confidence in the film.
