Thanks to the long time for which Dookudu was shot, it helped Mahesh Babu and Sreenu Vaitla bond better. From what Vaitla spoke of the space he shared with the hero, it can be concluded that the both have become best pals.

On his part, Vaitla gave the credit for the way Dookudu came out to Mahesh's constant support and dedication. "Mahesh may be a superstar, but I felt like I was directing my brother so long as I worked with him. In a sense, it is because of him that the film has come out so well."

The director said that it was Superstar Krishna's personality that was the inspiration behind some dialogues like 'Bhayaniki meaninge teliyani blood ra nadi.'

Very down-to-earth, Vaitla has one too many friends in the industry. To Venkatesh, with whom he has been friends for more than a decade, one may now add Mahesh's name to the list of Sreenu's superstar buddies.
