Star weddings are nothing new in Kollywood.

Yet, even by its standards this one is as big as they come.

Yes, up coming actor Dhanush is all set to become superstar Rajnikant's son-in-law.

Dhanush, son of director Kasthoori Raja will tie the knot with Aishwarya, Rajnikant's daughter, next month.

The wedding is slated for 18 November at Rajnikant's residence at Poes Garden and reception would be held on 25 November here.

Dhanush however denied rumors that it was a love marriage.

"It's a marriage arranged by my parents (director Kasthooriraja and Vijayalakshmi Kasthoori Raja) and Ishwarya's (Rajnikanth and Latha Rajnikanth".

"Various sections of the press were reporting about an affair running between me and Ishwarya. I denied it consistently. She (Ishwarya) was my sister's friend. At one point, both our parents decided to put an end to all rumors and met each other. After formal introductions, they got acquaintaned with each other and developed intimacy.

"They suddenly decided to make all the rumors true. That resulted in our marriage," Dhanush said breathlessly.

The marriage has been arranged with actor Rajnikant's approval, Dhanush said and added, "never I dreamt in my life that I would become a family-member of a great actor like Rajnikant".

Dhanush made his debut in the film Thulluvatho Illamai which became a box-office hit. His subsequent films, Kadhal Kondein, Thiruda Thirudi, too did well. But the next two Pudukottailirundhu Saravanan and Sullan bombed, bringing the actor's career graph which had been plumbing to a new low. Dhanush also got embroiled in some controversies, even triggering talks of his fledgling career coming to an abrupt end.

The actor, "hoping for improved fortunes after his marriage", said, "when I was 16 years old, I decided to get married when I reach 22 years of age. Though my elder brother (director Selvaraghvan) is still to get married, I have gone ahead to got the assent for my marriage proposal".

"I had a brief talk with Aishwarya and I admire her soft nature and kind heart."

Dhanush, who will be acting in his father's home production Oru Naal Oru Kanavu being directed by Selvaraghvan, also pointed out "the marriage would be an private affair which would be held on 18 November, followed by a grand reception on 25 November.'

Rajnikant is busy in the shoot of his next, Chandramukhi, being produced by Sivaji Productions and directed by P Vasu.
