Making an entertaining and accurate historical drama is never an easy task. Apart from getting the sets, costumes and props right, makers also have to carry out extensive research in order to create an appealing and historically coherent script. Actor Sonu Sood, who will soon be seen playing Chand Bardai in Akshay Kumar's 'Samrat Prithviraj', recently shared that an actor needs to be responsible while playing a real life historical character.

He told PTI, "History has so many versions as there are different materials written by different writers based on their own individual research. So, it is debatable which version is correct. It is the duty and responsibility of an actor to portray things correctly, which begins with diction and body language."

Sonu further added, "It is important for an actor to do their homework right and not just come on sets, wear the costumes and say the lines with the dialect. Today, the audience is very smart and very well-read. It is important to be responsible when you play historical characters.”
