Shaala Angalakke Taaralaya` – the new scheme of the government of Karnataka is bringing the opportunity to the rural students to take a look at the Brahmanda` at their vicinities.

Instead of looking at sky in the night times the students in rural Karnataka could make use of feel of planets. Five portable vans are moving to rural areas to give the much desired feel of planets for high school and PUC students of Karnataka. Such feel is also a study material for the students.

As of now the Nehru Planetarium in Bengaluru was the main attraction for students. The science and technology minister MR Seetharam on Monday said the portable digital planetariums will be inaugurated on 23rd of August.

Each portable unit has seating capacity for 40 students and each session will be half hour duration. Each unit of this portable planetarium cost Rs.1.20 crores.

The districts of Mysuru, Belagavi, Kalaburgi and Bengaluru get this facility. On Rs.40 crores investment in the coming days the districts of Hubballi, gadaga, Madikeri, bagalakote, Vijayapura – mini planetariums will be set up says the S and T Minister MR Seetharam.
