In an interview given to a Telugu-language news channel, Devineni Prasad, the 'Baahubali-2' co-producer, has said that the movie is still going very strong. Having already mopped up a stunning Rs. 1000 Cr, the magnum opus, Prasad says, could even cross Rs. 1500 Cr.
"It's anybody's guess. But from what we have learnt by closely monitoring the collections in those segments in which we ourselves have distributed the movie, it might even collect Rs. 1500 Cr," he has said.
There was a time when 'Baahubali-The Beginning' was released with a "table loss" of Rs. 75 Cr. Putting behind those tense days, the producers went on to be in safe zone even before the second part hit the screens. The Hindi version's stupendous success has caught even the producers by huge surprise. "It's astounding that our movie has bet the extant records of 'Dangal' and 'PK'. The huge success in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam was almost expected," Prasad has averred.
Saying that although this huge market was expect, it was never imagined that it would be reached so fast, in as many as 10 days.
