The media and audience are just hogging in the transformation of Vidya Balan - from an innocent, simple next-door-gal of Parineeta to the bold, seducing widow of Ishqiya.

In the film, the charming actress seem to have shed her inhibition to bloom into a profession chick, daring out an image far from her usual self.

In Abhishek Choubey’s directorial ‘Ishqiya’, the actress plays a seductress, wooing two thugs, played by Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi.

Last month, the team shot a special number “Ibn batuta”, where all these three actors are shown in an inebriated condition. Vidya played the sport by grooving along with the two men, acting drunk.

If this is not enough, the actress has even tried out bolder scene in the film – of sucking Arshad's thumb. Having worked in 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' with Arshad, helped Vidya to get into a comfortable zone to shoot such scenes. She felt fortunate with Arshad being a friend.

Stated Vidya, “I don't know if I'd have been able to do a scene like putting my co-star's finger in the mouth with someone else. That gesture of sucking Arshad's thumb was so raunchy and sexy, so not me, I couldn't connect with it all.”

For Vidya, everything in ‘Ishqiya’, from her clothes to body language, was alien to her. She said that the role exposed her to a new way of interpreting a liberated woman. Her character in 'Ishqiya' may not know about feminism, but she's truly liberated, added Vidya.
