Popular film producer and education baron Ishari Ganesh's mother Pushpa Ishari Velan passed away today at the age of 75 due to natural causes. She is survived by her son Ishari Ganesh and two daughters and grandchildren. Pushpa was the wife of the late veteran comedy actor Ishari Velan who was one of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MGR's staunch supporters.

Ishari Ganesh had stated in interviews that his mother Pushpa went through heavy financial difficulties after his father's death in the eighties but she brought him and his sisters up with discipline.

It has been announced that the body of Pushpa Velan will be moved from her Injambakkam residence at 9 am on Friday, July 15th and will be taken to Vels University premises in Thazhamboor where she will be laid to rest. Film industry celebrities and politicians belonging to various parties have expressed their condolences on social media and over phone to Ishari Ganesh.
