After the success of `Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu', National Award winner Amit Trivedi  is back with Yash Raj Films `Ishaqzaade'. The six original tracks are worth listening to and suit the flavor of the film.

Ishaqzaade
Singers: Javed Ali and Shreya Ghoshal.

The album kicks off with the title track `Ishaqzaade', sung by Javed Ali.  Javed Ali's voice sounds very fresh and blends with the lyrics of the film.  A very romantic track with a combination of different instruments this song is worth listening to.  Shreya joins in towards the end of the song and ends it off with soothing note.

Chokra Jawan
Singer: Vishal Dadlani, Sunidhi Chauhan

The album kicks off with Chokra jawan written by director Habib Faisal and sung by Vishal Dadlani and Sunidhi Chauhan. The lyrics are typically the nautanki style but it's a boisterous groovy dance number. It's more on the territory of Vishal Bhardwaj's "Beedi Jalaile" number. Both Vishal and Sunidhi have done full justice to the song. Amit Trivedi's composition has a typical jazz feel to it interspersed with the sounds of trumpets and soft-drums and guitar and gun shots. Sunidhi's husky tones accompanied with Vishal's rustiness raises the song to another level altogether. A true winner this song will be.

Pareshan
Singers: Shalmali Kholgade

It is followed by "Pareshaan" sung by Shalmali Kholgade is a soft soothing romantic song. The composition gives a sense of depth with the use of instruments like violin and drums accentuating the pain in the singer's voice. There are moments where despite the absence of music, the soulful rendition immerses itself into the meaningful lines of the song. The song's remix version too is likable. Shalmali has beautifully captured the mood of the song

Pareshaan Remix: Is once again a fast track by Shalmali Kholgade where the violin and drums take over the voice of the singer. However the original track is more noteworthy than the remix.

Jhalla wallah
Singers: Shreya Ghoshal

The next track in the album is a mujra number, which seems to take the story forward in the film. It's a feisty song and the lyrics are noteworthy too.   It's a foot tapping number but nothing innovative.  Just another mujra number added to the album at times it sounds too mundane unless picturised well.

Jhalla Wallah Remix
Singers: Shreya Ghoshal, Ajinkya Iyer, Neuman Pinto

The remix of the song is more foot tapping fusion and gives the feel of a trendy disco mujra better than the original number. The blend of the sarangi, harmonium and tabla is fantastic. Normally remixes are space fillers but this song will definitely have a repeat value.

Aafaton ke parindey
Singer: Divya Kumar and Suraj Jagan

Aafaton ke parindey is the last track in the album and apparently also the title track of the film. The fast-paced grungy song has been sung by Divya Kumar and Suraj Jagan and is more forceful compared to other songs in the album. It has a lot of aggressiveness and is spearheaded by the deep throated voice of Suraj Jagan. The song has a lot of heavy metal and can be termed as a violent track as it gives an insight into the movie.  This song sounds more like where the love birds have taken flight. Divya Kumar's voice is hidden by the heavy beats.

Overall:  `Ishaqzaade' may cater more to the youngsters than the elderly. It's vivacious and has many emotional shades to it. Amit Trivedi, will once again be a winner with this one. Kausar Munir and Habib Faisal lyrics too are definitely worthy of mention. Debutant singer Shalmali Kholgade is brilliant and has certainly a long way to go. The album is definitely worth a shot.
