Young actor Ishaan Khattar is currently promoting his upcoming horror comedy 'Phone Bhoot' alongwith co-stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Katrina Kaif. Apart from this, he will also be seen in a war drama titled 'Pippa'. 'Pippa' is based on the life and exploits of real life war hero Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta who was a captain when he served in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War alongwith his siblings.
Focusing on tank battles on the eastern front against Pakistan, 'Pippa' just might be the first Bollywood war movie of its kind and unlike most of the war based dramas, it features an age appropriate actor in the role of a Captain. In a recent media interaction, Ishaan shared how elated he was to portray an Indian army officer.
The actor told PTI, “Pippa certainly has been a transforming, different experience for me. It is in that kind of zone that is not being explored by young actors. It is interesting because that is just the age that the gentleman I am portraying, who is a real-life brigadier, was then a young captain."
Ishaan was also rumored to be part of hockey player Major Dhyan Chand's biopic helmed by Abhishek Chaubey. Talking about that, he said, “I have a list of directors with whom I hope to work sooner or later. Abhishek Chaubey sir is definitely on that list. I am open to working with people who I may not know yet, who may have a great idea and become the next greatest filmmaker."
