Recently, Isha Koppikar spoke candidly about some disturbing events from her early years working in the movies. In an emotional interview with Siddharth Kannan, she related stories of situations whereby she was approached inappropriately by well-known personalities.
Speaking Hindi, Isha related, "An A-list actor once asked me to see him alone, without my driver or anyone else, due to reports about him being associated with other women. He remarked, "The staff disseminates rumors and there are already controversies about me." I told him I couldn't come alone though and turned down. At the time, I was probably between 22 and 23 years old.
Isha also detailed a disturbing incident when she was barely eighteen, involving a secretary and an actress who advised she should be 'nice' with actors if she wanted a job. "I am really nice, but what exactly does 'friendly' mean? I am really friendly; Ekta Kapoor once advised me to develop some attitude." she said. She also said how some would touch her improperly and demand her to be more 'friendly' with the heroes in a sleazy way.
Making her Bollywood debut in 1998 with Ek Tha Dil Ek Thi Dhadkan, Isha starred in films including Fiza, Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, Company, Kaante, Pinjar, and Dil Ka Rishta. She also featured with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in Don.
Having met at a gym and knowing each other for three years, Isha married hotelier Timmy Narang in her personal life in 2009. While the pair split ways earlier this year, they welcomed their daughter Rianna in July 2014.
