Ilayaraja is a renowned music director, playback singer and lyricist in the Indian film industry, predominantly in Tamil. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest Indian music composers of all time. The legendary musician has composed more than 7,000 songs, provided film scores for more than 1,000 movies and performed in more than 20,000 concerts.
Ilaiyaraja is nicknamed "Isaignani" and is often referred to as the "Maestro". He is known for integrating Indian folk music and traditional Indian instrumentation with western classical music techniques. The composer was one of the earliest Indian film composers to use Western classical music harmonies and string arrangements in Tamil film music and the first South Asian to compose a full symphony.
Now, the latest is that the Isaignani has now turned a music teacher for the first time. Ilayaraja is teaching the young Indian musician Lydian Nadhaswaram, who won The World's Best on CBS in 2019. Lydian is currently composing music for Mohanlal's film in Malayalam. So, he is learning the nuances of music from Ilayaraja. Maestro is teaching him music-related subjects in his music studio.
Sharing pictures of himself learning music from Ilayaraja, Lydian Nadhaswaram penned, "Dear all, I’m very happy to inform you all that my music teacher “Maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja uncle” said that I’m his First and one and only student in his experience..and he teaches me everyday with so much love and care…I need all your blessings too..Thank you one and all (sic)." The photos are going viral on the internet.
